Advanced practice physiotherapy (APP) describes expert physiotherapists with high-level clinical decision-making who manage patients with often complex and challenging health problems with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. A physiotherapist in an advanced practice role will have completed post-licensure education leading to advanced competencies in the four APP pillars of Clinical Practice, Education, Research, Leadership & Management.
